“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10

About twenty years ago, I was traveling with Kevin Case, a New Tribes missionary to the Tepehuan Indians, headed to his home in Mexico. Kevin is a Bible translator for this people group. We spent a night in a home that ministered to the missionaries as they went in and out of Mexico. The Lord prompted my heart about one day ministering in this way to pastors.

Seven years ago while in North Carolina, I was reminded of this encouragement from the Lord. I shared my vision with a very dear friend of mine and we began praying that the Lord would open the doors. Now we are watching God begin to move this dream forward. We are asking you to pray for us as we follow the prompting of the Lord.

“And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy man of God who is continually passing our way. 10 Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.” 2 Kings 4:9-10 ESV

Solitude Place Apartment

Posted by on Jun 21, 2016 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Solitude Place is renting an apartment in Rutherfordton, NC for Christian leaders. We have not been able to build a retreat center yet, but that won’t stop us from blessing ministry leaders. We are waiting on a few pieces of furniture to complete the apartment and are asking God for 50 new partners to provide $30 a month to provide a place to rest and to offer counseling/encouragement as needed. Here’s a look:

Outreach to Leaders

Posted by on Dec 9, 2015 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Solitude Place had the opportunity over the last few months to send five pastors and their wives away for some rest. These leaders reside in Charlotte and Forest City, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C. We have also been able to host several missionaries by utilizing local lodging and partnering with other like-minded ministries. Of course, we continue to provide counseling and encouragement to other leaders by phone, in person, or via Skype as needed. God continues to open the doors of ministry to us each month.

Time to Rake the Leaves

Posted by on Dec 9, 2015 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Fall is one of the most beautiful times in North Carolina, although we do love it here year-round. People flock from all over the U.S. to witness the beauty of leaves changing their colors. Those of us who live here also enjoy the painting of colorful landscape, but we must rake up the leftover mess in our yards long after the visitors have returned home. The color-rich deciduous trees are headed into a barren time without the beauty and provision of their green foliage. Dropping their leaves actually helps them to survive the cold, dry, and...

The Possibilities Are Endless – Join Us In Prayer

Posted by on Jul 2, 2015 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

We are currently living in a cottage next to a majestic Southern Manor built in the 1920’s. This beautiful red brick home was used as a Bed & Breakfast (6 bedroom, 6 bath) for some 17 years. It would be the perfect site for Solitude Place to bring folks to rest and refresh. There may be an opportunity to purchase it on the horizon. Would you join us in praying for around $400,000 to come in? We know this really reaching for big things, but we serve a big God.
